On 23 November 2017, the Regional Development Agency of Senec-Pezinok (RRA SP) organized in cooperation with the Slovak Chamber of Crafts (SŽK) and Slovak Design Center (SCD) an interesting workshop in which the discussion on the possibility of linking the practice with training as better and better to prepare young people for the labour market. The workshop took place at the Slovak Design Center (SCD) in Bratislava.
The participants of the workshop were representatives of the Slovak Institute for Vocational Training, secondary vocational schools, unions, associations as well as employers / small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Everyone agreed that linking education with practice is indispensable, regardless of dual learning. There are amendments to the Vocational Education Act that have to be made in order to link education and practice more effectively. State Institute of Vocational Education confirmed that the changes are already being discussed at several levels.
There have been a lot of presentations and contributions during the workshop, and the participants confirmed their interest to continue the discussion also at other events to be organized on this topic. It is important to continue to meet and shape partnerships that can actively and comprehensively engage in concrete positive changes.
The workshop was implemented within the framework of the international project
“EP4A: European Partnerships for Apprenticeship” supported by the Erasmus + programme and aimed at building the capacity of support organizations for SMEs.
