Focus group meeting held in Serbia

On 10 April 2017, at the Regional Centre for the Professional Development of Employees in Education in Čačak, a focus group with the topic „Model of dual education, promoting apprenticeships“ was held. Focus group was held as a part of the Erasmus + KA3 project Get involved in EP4A: European Partnerships for Apprenticeships, with the aim to build on the results gained from the Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) Questionnaires and Surveys.

Four representatives of SMEs participated at the focus group meeting: Svetlana Davidov Adamović, textile engineer and trainer at P..S…Fashion d.o.o. Čačak, Slađana Vasiljević, accountant at B- export d.o.o. Čačak, Tamara Karapandić, PR manager from Tiffany production and Goran Marković, executive director of Weltkes.

At the meeting, following topics were discussed:

  • How to increase apprenticeship provision in SMEs
  • How to improve work-based learning (WBL)
  • Are SMEs ready to cooperate with the education sector in order to become more competitive
  • How to motivate students to express their potential through apprenticeships

Focus group participants had the opportunity to exchange opinions, discuss different subjects related to apprenticeships provision and suggest possible solutions. All SMEs representatives agreed that there is a general problem with the occupation fashion tailor.

In conclusion, focus group participants agreed that this project is useful and necessary for future education and inclusion of all stakeholders in Moravice and Raška Administrative Districts, through awareness rising about benefits of apprenticeships and examples of SMEs getting involved in apprenticeship provision.
